Eat at the Packing District
Eating doesn’t get much cooler than this. Just a few miles from Disneyl和, three historic l和marks—a 1919 Sunkist orange packing house, a 1925 Packard car dealership, a 1917 orange marmalade factory—got new leases on life in 2013 as the 阿纳海姆 Packing District. The airy renovated warehouse spaces now house 阿纳海姆啤酒厂, 鲜味汉堡, 无名酝酿 Company, Pali Wine Company, plus the Packing House 食物 Hall—more than 30 food stalls 和 restaurants selling everything you could ever want to eat. There’s grilled cheese, 拉面, 法人后裔海鲜, 灵魂的食物, 有机咖喱, 点心, 日本法式薄饼, 冰淇淋棒, 还有更多. The warehouse décor is as hip as the food. Air plants suspended on dangling ropes drape from the open-beamed ceiling, BXCR酒吧 is built into a converted 1920s railroad boxcar.

Hundreds of bustling Vietnamese-owned businesses 和 restaurants pack a three-square-mile area of Westminster 和 Garden Grove, home to almost 200,000 Vietnamese Americans 和 one of the largest Vietnamese communities outside of Vietnam. Get a taste of this fascinating area by browsing the 亚洲花园商场 (aka Phuoc Loc Tho), a colorful two-story indoor shopping center filled with baked goods, 珠宝, 衣服, 化妆品, 家居用品, 和蜉蝣. Be sure to eat at 小西贡’s tantalizing restaurants: Sip perfect pho at 越南河粉79 or Pho Nguyen Hue，或大吃一顿 banh同 (steamed rice cakes with shrimp) or 发髻色 (beef soup) at zen-like 全重.(Ed. note: Lily's Bakery at 小西贡 is permanently closed.)
Simulate Soaring in the Sky
Tired of ho-hum get-togethers? This Friday night, take your friends to the Flightdeck Flight Simulation Center to experience the thrill of competing in air-to-air combat while flying at 600 knots. The action happens in simulators, not actual airplanes, but the sensation is astoundingly real. You’ll dress up in a genuine military-issue flight suit, attend ground school,n hop into one of Flightdeck’s eight F-16 fighter jet simulators 和 show off your best 壮志凌云 演习. Your goal is to blow the other jets out of the sky—和 not get hit. If you’re more of a cruiser than a speed demon, try your h和 at the commercial airline simulator instead. You’ll take the controls of a commercial plane 和 “fly” it through the friendly skies.
